Quit her day job in Child Nutrition in 2012 to go to school full time for writing. In 2020 she completed her MFA and opted for another day job as a librarian. Today, she works full time as the Executive Director of her local literacy program. It’s work she loves, and as a writer promoting literacy is part of her heart work.

When she’s not working at literacy, she works to build her career as an author, speaker, and multi-media creator.

At her small homestead in northeast Oklahoma, she and her husband enjoy creating their dreams together and document some of this creative homestead journey (and her love for books and cats) on her YouTube channel, Cat Tale Acres.

Her favorite genres to read and write are Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction and Mystery. She also reads widely in nonfiction, and has a particular interest in nature, spirituality, and history.

She draws much of the inspiration for her writing from nature —the light and the dark aspects of it.
